SCORING:
The first game of the season kicked off last saturday and well... lets say that it could have gone better. Throughout the game the team showed promise and becoming very dangerous at times but the finish was not up to scratch. Mary Wash scored the first ten points before we got our act together and we managed to bring the score back even before half time, with scores from the pack off the line out in the 22 drivin ten yards and touched down by John Apostilitas; and a brilliant passage of play where the ball was passed out to the centers then to Petro, then to English James, then to the wing, Chad Vallerio, then back in to Petro and finally back to English for the score in the corner.
Some ingeries in key positions did not help the team in the second half, scrum half Greg Bassi had to go off and wing/fullback Hap Prosel also had to go off with a knee ingery. In the end the wheels came off and they scored two tries at the end of the game to grab the victory. The team has a lot to work on before the first matrix game next weekend against Navy.
The b side game was a bit sloppy to say the least but also proising with many rookies plaing in their first rugby game and getting a taste of what it's like. They were led by an able team of vets, including Mike Woods who played an outstanding game, puting in some big hits as usual and making the Mary Wash scrum half's life a nightmare. Look for this team to come of age later on in the season.
We got spanked.

SCORING: Ok so I have been a bit lax in reporting for the games fall year, some
of the games were less then inspiring. The team struggled this year in many
ways, but dispite the rest of the season the team finished off well,
which is all that matters anyway right? I knew you would agree! This was by far the best game of the season for both teams. Everything came
together... Finally! Jim Goodfellow was getting good ball and finding the space
out wide for the first time in the season with the help of inside center Ryan
Burke. As the score line shows we had no problems attacking but our defence was
lacking as it had been the whole season. The b-side recorded a more convincing victory, shutting out Catholic. Great
defencive play contributed to this especially on the goalline.
